Caring for Coatings

In addition to any standard or project specific guide lines issued by the manufacturer, the following points should be observed:

• All chemical spills must be diluted immediately and the area thoroughly rinsed clean.
• Do not use mechanical or steel scrapers to remove any impediments from the floor surface.
• Avoid any free standing steel work this may result in rust stains on the floor.
• All floors should be inspected on a regular basis.
• Any mechanical damage must be reported immediately to ensure minimal risk of water tracking resulting in delaminating of the applied finish (failure to observe this point may result in any warranties being voided).
• A regular cleaning regime and basic good housekeeping practices should be established and maintained for all floors in particular where high concentrations of acid are involved.
• Cleaning agents: The use of alkaline based detergents, degreasers and mild caustic solutions is recommended for the cleaning of most floors.
• Any chlorine based sanitizers must be mild as higher concentrations could cause bleaching of the floor.
• Cleaning equipment: Industrial scrubbing machinery (soft or medium bristle), heavy duty brooms or high pressure water cleaners.

NOTE: It is strongly recommended that water in excess of 70 degrees or at a pressure higher than 110 psi not be used on epoxy or other composite floors as this may cause thermal shock resulting in cracking or delaminating of the floor topping.
